The school where I studied in Bucharest, Romania, had two separate entrances – one for the teachers and one for students. Also, two separate sets of stairs, one for the teachers and one for the students. We were only allowed to use our door and our set of stairs. The teacher’s stairs were covered with a green fluffy carpet and there were plants on every floor. Ours were bare concrete, cold, soulless. I still remember feeling a little scared passing the door to the teacher’s room.

Dear Monica,
Thank you for sharing your story and impression. I especeially liked the two eneteances – one for students and one for teachers -just reminded me that we had the same thing in Serbia. And your description of the NVC school wormed my heart. NOw I am curious to go and visit it myself.
Barbara
Yes, I second what Barbara said, thank you Monica for sharing some of your experience on this website.
I am amazed reading what your two experiences Barbara and Monica, in, Serbia and Romania. I feel sad thinking such seperation can be made between teachers and students.
On the other hand it helped to put in perspective what I experience in France wich I use to think was terrible.
Even if the difference was more subtle in France, I definitly can enjoy reading your experience in Skarpnacks where everyone’s needs seems to matter.
It meets my need for hope, so deeply thank you. I am brand new, on this web site, I am eager to learn more and to keep working/play to contribute to nurrish life. .
Thank you.
